Whirlpool Dishwasher not draining at end of cyle or when cycle canceled

Dishwasher will go through complete cycle, then when it is time to drain, starts making a humming, like something is stuck then it never drains. Tried to clean out drain hose but no clogs, still not draining and continues to make noise only during drain.
