Stoves cookers and ranges get a lot of work. If you look after them they will give years of trouble free service. The secret is too keep them clean.

Maintain all surfaces using manufacturer recommended cleaners, and this applies to solid cook top elements and ceramic hob surfaces.

If your unit is a new generation unit check the error codes and look it up in the manual for clarification before you call the service man.

Never attempt to repair or troubleshoot your home-appliances unless the electrical power is switched off and the plug removed.

1. The cooking element may have failed. I some cases you might notice a blister on the black element surface.

2. The element socket connection or plug-in receptacle is burnt and making a poor contact. These may be pitted and burnt. In some cases the wire termination might also be burnt off.
