Speedqueen Washer, Model No. AWM373W2,

by Todd
(Mt Pleasant Michigan USA)

My Speedqueen Washer, Model No. AWM373W2, will not spin and the water does not drain. You can hear an audible click then a brief humming sound then another click and no more sound. It will do this repeatedly. I removed the front cover and can pull the belt and make it or the pulleys rotate by hand. Also after a short time I noticed the distinct smell of an over heating motor.

Speed Queen Washer w/ Bad Motor
by: Rickster

When you pull off the front cover and move the selecter on the control panel to the spin cycle, you should see the belt /pulley on the bottom rotating. If that is not happening (Pulley/belt not rotating) then you have a bad motor. The motor is not difficult to replace but it can be expensive ($150).
