Sears Kenmore Three Speed Heavy Duty shampooer-Polisher

by Mary
(Oshhkosh, WI)

I have the above listed appliance since about the 60's, I would imagine. It is like an upright vacuum and is aqua and white in color. It holds 120 ounces of shampoo solution. It also says 12 and 40. I have 2 sets of brushes and one set of polishers, but cannot figure out how to get the brushes off to change them. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have tried pulling and anything else, but they do not come off. It is probably a simple procedure that I cannot figure out.

removing brushes
by: Ronald

Pulling should work but you may have to pry them off and then put just a little bit of white grease on the spindles.
Mine are just a little tough to remove but the more often you do it the easier it seems. There could be a little bit of gunk on the spindles or possible a little bit of rush. Maybe use an old tooth brush to clean off the spindles.

mary, all you need to do is pull them straight down. Maybe wiggle a little . My mom has the exact same one and I use it all the time. Just love it. Works much better than the newer shampooers.
