Re Sears (Kenmore) Model #C880-6200980 KITCHEN RANGE

A having difficulty with the range controls- specifically the Start and Stop central controls.

They seem to have a mind of their own? They seem to Start and stop on their own, at times I can not get it to operate at all.

I have inherited this range from the previous owner an probably require an owners Manual. I have searched for one and have had no luck will you please advise?
