Morphy Richard Jug Kettle

by Grandmamarel Mrs Marylin Graham
(Essex, UK)

I have a Morphy Richard Complements Jug Kettle (6 months old) which stopped switching itself off on boiling when I descaled it this week. Looked at the Instructions that came with the kettle and it says that if the filter is not inserted properly can stop the auto-switch working. Took filter out to re-insert it and found that one of the mesh segments is broken - do you think this could cause the kettle to not switch off on boiling, even though filter is correctly fitted?
