Microwave Oven repairs

ABOUT THE MICROWAVE OVEN

The home microwave came out around the year of 1955. This was a new and exciting appliance but some rumors were going around that microwaves could cause radiation poisoning and other health problems.

After people realized that these rumors were not true, microwaves became very popular. It was more common to purchase a microwave than it was an oven. Microwaves have stayed popular ever since. To this day, you see a microwave in almost every single kitchen

The oven converts your home electrical power into a high voltage.

This is then taken to what is called a magnetron that converts this to radio waves. The radio waves vibrate the food molecules to create heat which cooks the food.

The best way to look after your machine is to do very basic maintenance and this is to keep the internal parts clean and the interior dry.

After every use of the microwave-oven, it is good to wipe down the inside of the oven with some all purpose cleaner. This helps prevent food splatters from getting stuck on the inside of the oven.

There is also usually a removable glass plate that you can just wash in the sink or the dish washer. Cleaning your microwave after every use or every few uses will make it so much easier to keep it clean.

Do you have a GE MICROWAVE then here is GE microwave fault code information. How to check and troubleshoot before calling the serviceman

The microwave will not operate

1. Always check that the power is switched on. The power indicator light will usually show this and the clock will be on or the display will be flashing.

3. Check that all control settings have been correctly entered.

4. There is an internal control circuit fault. If you can hear a loud buzzing or no heating, this indicates a possible magnetron fault.
