Maytag-Washer Repair - The washing-machine will not agitate or the drum will not rotate

This is a real common problem to resolve, and its all in the control and interlock circuit.

1. The washer door or washer lid interlock switch is sticking. Operate the lid a few times and see if that clears the problem, it usually does but of it continues you may have to get it re-tightened or even replaced

2. The water level in the washer has not reached the setting required to continue the cycle

3. The water temperature in the washer has not reached the setting required if you are not using a cold water wash (often a thermostat problem

4. The washer cycle timer or program electronic circuit board may be faulty

5. The washer electric drive motor may be defective or reversing switch may be defective, usually on the older well worn machines

6. The drive clutch where installed may be defective or worn, especially with older machines

7. The washer drum belt or coupling may be defective. They get worn after a lot of use
