kenmore microwave hood Mod 665 60629000

In want to remove the microwave. It will not come away from the mounting plate more than abaout one inch. I have removed the two threaded screws that go into the top of the unit from inside the upper caninet. I recall there was an "arrow" shaped pin that protruded from the mounting plate about 2 inches and matched with a recess in the back of the micro unit. This appears to be holding the unit from coming further away from the wall. How do I remove the micro-release it from this pin?
