Kenmore Limited Edition Electr. Stove Two Front Stove Tops Do Not LITE UP

My mom bought this Kenmore limited edition Electric Stove back in 1984-86 and she loves this stove very much.
The problem is that the two front stove top wont lite up when trying to turn it on, while the two back stove tops turn on just fine.I also noticed that the two front non-working ones dont make this "tick'tick" noise like the two ones in the back. Therefore, only gas is escaping when you try to turn the two nonworking ones on.
My mom uses matches to turn these two front ones one and shes really tired of doing this.
We cleaned them out throughly, and they still dont seem to work.
Please help us, since she will love to still keep using her stove for many years to come.
Also, she misplaced her manual.
