Kenmore Frig Problem

by Suzanne Caselle
(Montreal, Qc Canada)

We recently bought a new home and it came with a Kenmore, vertical two door refrigerator. The refrigerator doors were covered with wood to match the cupboards. The black aluminum handles installed, run vertically top to bottom for both the freezer and refrigerator doors, but the problem is that our fingers keep getting caught in the tight area of these silly handles. So my question is, first can we install normal handles on the wood surface of the doors without access to the back of the door, and if not, is there an adapter handle piece we can add to the present aluminum handles that would let us grab easier when opening the doors.
