Kenmore Elite Freezer Beeping

We have a Kenmore Elite upright freezer. Since our power was off for a number of hours and is now on, I have not been able to reset the alarm. Is there something to do besides push or push and hold the reset button on the top by the temperature sign??

In my Kenmore Elite upright freezer, a beeping tone is made when the backup battery is low or dead. It is a 9volt battery located in the front at the base of the freezer beneath the door. Replaced it and the beeping stopped. The led display alternated between the temp and the letter b.
