Kenmore Elite Ceramic Top Stove

by Cheryl Gould
(Bowie, MD)

I have a Kenmore Elite Ceramic Top Stove which I bought second-hand. The former owner misplaced the owner's manual. I want to use the self-cleaning oven, but I'm not sure how to make it work. There are several other features on the stove that I haven't figured out yet. The number on the door is 164D3871P002. Can you help me locate an owner's manual?

Kenmore Elite self cleaning instr

To use the self cleaning feature you just need to select the FLEXCLEAN button on the console- it auto locks the oven. You can set the time between 2-4 hours in minute increments using the numbers keypad(200-400) if desired- if no time is entered then it will auto clean for 3 hrs.Press Start and CLn ; DOOR LOCKED; will appear. The DELAYED START feature can also be used- press DELAYED START next and enter the time of day to begin and press START again- the LOCKED DOOR will remain on display with DELAY but CLn will icon will turn off until the clean cycle begins at your preset time and continue to show until completed. (

Make sure and remove all pans, etc- the temp gets so high that it will warp cookie sheets, etc- unneccesary to remove any porcelain-covered racks. also will remove the teflon finish. When the CLEAN cycle completes just open and wipe any gray ash from the walls and racks. Pretty simple.

Be forewarned: it will smell bad. You want to remove any excess spillovers before running this cycle.
