Kenmore dryer

by Geoff
(Canada)

My 3 year old Kenmore dryer, model 970-c85072-00 began to beep. I checked it out and 4 of the lights for "dry, cool down, wrinkle rid and filter were flashing every few seconds with the beep. Whats wrong ?

Lights flashing and beeping
by: Ken

Ditto. We have had the same problem on this Kenmore dryer since purchasing it in Jan. 2008. In 2008 we had the solid state circuit board replaced under warranty. We were told that the circuit board was under warranty (usually 3-5 years). In 2009 the lights began to flash and the beeps returned. We had a repairman visit. Verdict: needs new circuit board. (Not under warranty and the second board was only warranted for 90 days) This will be the third circuit board within 2 years 2 months. Where are they getting these defective boards?!

Kenmore Dryer Beeping
by: Allan

Our Kenmore dryer is also about 3 yrs old and beeps sometimes continuously when I run it and sometimes not at all. The cycle lights will flash at the oddest times - when I haven't even touched them in the middle of the day or night. When the lights are flashing I find my dryer spins but won't dry. I have tried unplugging it overnight to reset the computer but had no luck. By continuously pushing the "pause" button, so the "Start" button stops flashing,I am sometimes successful in resetting the computer and I find this mostly works for me on the "Quick and Touch-Up" cycles. Still looking for a fix too.
