Kenmore dryer solenoids clicking

by larry decker
(bloomfield, NY, USA)

My Kenmore dryer ( mod # 110.72692100) intermittantly heats..I hear the gas solenoid(s)clicking on, about 5 seconds of continous clicks, but unit does not sustain a good heating output. I've vaccumed all vent pipining, and back and front (around gas controls carefully)of unit. Upon restarting, it has worked great for ~5 minutes, then goes back to the series of clicking bursts.
Note that I unplugged the unit when investigating unit twice and when restarting both times it produced good heat...for `10 minutes then when back to the series of clicking Is my gas solenoid bad, or a control pulling the solenoids in and out..or what?
