kenmore dryer problems

I have sears kenmore dryer It is making noise sounds like mike have guides or bushings bad but not sure I took the back panel off can not see inner workings there so layed it down to come in from the bottom has an inclosed bottom took two screws out of the back that held two silver clips that looked like they held the top down but tehy dont come out and the top does not come off! How do i get into this thing to see whats up????
