Kenmore Dryer 970-c85172-00

by Frank
(Ottawa Canada)

The drum turns and the blower works but there is no heat. If the Heat dial on the control panel is at any heat setting, the motor will only engage when I have my finger pressed on the start button. Once I remove my finger it stops. However, if I put the heat dial on No Heat, the motor will stay engaged, the drum will turn, air will blow but there will be no heat coming from the heating element. I disassembled the dryer and (I believe) tested every circuit. Could not locate the problem.
