Kenmore Air Conditioner Model #A100E - Smells funky

My Portable air conditioner was cleaned last summer and we just started using it. The removable filter is not dirty, but cleaned it anyway. Evertime we turn it on whether it is fan, dehumidifier, ac or smart mode it releases a funky odor that smells like a sweaty gym bag.

Do I need to get this thing cleaned again? What a rip off, I've barely used this item in the past year and I've spent $200 after having it for one month to get it cleaned, used it for about one month and now it doesn't work again. Actually the first time I used it, the water drained out all over my floor and ruined my carpet. HELP please! In addition I am disabled and don't have much money to spend on cleaning this unit every month.
