kenmore 80 series dryer

i have several problems with my kenmore 80 series dryer, model # 110.74812200. first of all the timer hasn't worked for years. as of last night it is not heating. there has been a thumpin and scraping sound with each rotation of the drum. and lastly the rear drum seal needs to be replaced. how do i take the dryer apart to access and replace the parts? and how do i troubleshoot the problems?
