Kenmore 110.86872100 68721 dryer (electric)

This is a new used dryer with no owners manual. Is there a way I can defeat the signal? It is annoying. My old (about 26 years old) dryer had a control on the panel that allows one to control the volume of the signal. This model does not. Anyone know how to defeat the buzz?
