ice maker

I just had a repair man fix my ice maker. but, It makes 6 cubes of ice every 10 hours. He told me, he fixed it. its making ice. but, that my ice maker has a poor design. I say there has to be something wrong besides a poor design. If its only making 6 cubes every 10 hours?
