HOOVER TOP LOAD 2005

HOOVER TOP LOAD 2005 Agitator is slightly loose, seems like a steel or plastic washer would suffice if I could get the Nut free, this nut is down at the bottom of the agitator and can be seen after removing the plastic cap on top. I have tried to tighten this but I cannot move it with my tools. Does it mean that i have to dismantle the machine
