About the GE Washer

ABOUT GE WASHER REPAIR

This generic troubleshooting information will suit most GE washing machines

Washer Repair - The washing-machine vibrates and makes a lot of noise during the spin

This really happens a lot with towels and sheets

1. The clothes are unbalanced and need redistribution

Washer Repair - The machine will not operate?

1. The very first step is to check that the electrical power is on, and the front panel indicator light will indicate this.

2. The second step is to check that the inlet water faucets or taps are on. If they are not then open them and try again.

3. Check that you have selected the wash program correctly. Sometimes you might try rotating the program selector dials if these are on your model to check they are not sticking.

4. Check that the front door or lid interlock switches are operating. If they are not, the machine will not start. It is a very common cause of non-operation, and simply opening and closing the door will usually clear the problem if it is just intermittent sticking.

Washer Repair -The washing-machine appears to start but no water is coming in?

1. If you hear the solenoid click and little to no water start flowing the inline water filter may be clogged and require cleaning. Turn off the faucet, remove the inlet line and remove and clean the filter.

2. If you do not hear the solenoid click the solenoid water inlet valve may be faulty or jammed

3. The cycle timer or program circuit board may be faulty and inlet valve does not open as it does not receive a signal.
