GE-dishwasher-part - GE Dishwasher Fault Codes – Model Range Late 1990's and onwards
Code PF Power Failure Push. Cancel to clear the code. If this code continues perform an electrical connection check to the dishwasher and also the electronic control module.
Code C1 This indicates a partially restricted drain line. The pump-out does not happen in the normal program time of 95 seconds or less. You should check the drain line for blockages and clear. If no blockages are found there may be a restricted drain valve inside the pump. This would require removal and cleaning.
Code C2 This indicates that the drain line is completely blocked, and the pump-out does not happen within the maximum program time of 405 seconds. You should check the drain valve for and restrictions or blockages in pump. Also check the drain line itself for any blockages
Code C3 This indicates that it will not progress into drain. You will need to call the GE-dishwasher-part service technician.
Code C4 This indicates that there is water over-fill fault. That means too much water has gone in and level is too high. You need to check for high water pressure to unit, and this is not common. The usual fault is a faulty water inlet valve, and it may not be closed properly due to debris under the valve seat
Code C5 This indicates a low water fill condition. You need to check for low water pressure to unit. This is usually caused by a clogged inlet water filter in the line where installed. The most common cause is a faulty water inlet valve as it doesn’t lift completely
Code C6 This indicates that the water temperature is too low after a nominal 20 minute period. If the water doesn’t get warm the heating element is probably okay and the thermostat is faulty. If there is no heat the heating element may be faulty
Code C7 This indicates that the temperature sensor is faulty. You will have to replace the sensor, and this is located inside the door. You will have to remove the door panel to access.
Code C8 This indicates that the detergent cup is clogged or blocked.
