Front Stainless Panel has come loose

by Mark Hammersla
(Maryland)

This is a cosmetic problem but has become very problematic. The front stainless panel on my Kitchen Aide dishwasher (model KUDP01FLSS6)has come loose and seems to be missing a screw in the lower left hand corner. This may have happened when the door hinges (nylon/plastic--very poor quality)broke and the door would free fall (it is very heavy) if not guided carefully down by hand. I have attempted to remove the front panel from the inner panel but after removing the screws, there seem to be inner screws holding the front panel in place that I cannot access--one of these is obviously the one missing because I can feel the hole in the inside of the front panel. Can someone tell me how to access the area between the front panel and the inner door panel to fix this problem? It seems like it should be simple and one new screw should fix the problem.
