Dacor gas top igniter doesn't stop.
by: doibooks

That happened to me after I cooked oysters in the shell on the burners. A lot of juice came out, but oysters were great.Afterwards the igniter continued to spark, even with the full burner on high with a good flames. I read the various internet sites. Apparently the igniters continue to spark until the circuit is completed from one or all of three burner parts. I still don't know how this works. In short, the solution is to clean very carefully each of the three burner pieces, as well as the black drip trays and all parts of the brass gas outlets to go to the burners. A layer of grease or oil on any of the parts is enough to not complete the igniter circuit, causing it to continue to spark. I just did mine and it works great. I was fearful the various complaints about Dacor ranges. I hope this works for you.
